Railroad Level. The American Combined level and grade finder, patented and manufactured by Edward Helb, Railroad, PA.
On the front of the level the large round dial is reads: The American Combined Level and Grade finder Edward Helb, Railroad York Co. PA. Inside the center has the U.S. Patent No. 764,809, July 12, 1904 and the Canada Patent No. 90,643, Dec 20, 1904. Glass is missing on this dial.
There is a compass to the left and next to that is a glass topped hole. To the right top is a built in level. On the front of the level is the dial, and over to the far right side is another level. On the side edge is where you look into the hole to see out of the top hole. The bottom part of the level has a brass plate. Beautiful aged wood.
This piece of history is a wonderful addition to a collection or display piece.
